Programme Origins
In cooperation with the National Debate Team, D Voice is an interactive programme launched by Training Gate International to train graduates of the fifth D Partners cohort (2019) to advocate for the issues of persons with disabilities. Alumni learn how to transform their lived experience into persuasive debate cases that resonate with audiences across Kuwait.
Specialised coaching blends debate frameworks, research labs, and inclusive storytelling clinics. Facilitators prioritise accessibility so that every participant—regardless of disability, speech pattern, or communication preference—feels confident stepping up to the podium.
Public Debates as Civic Education
Public debates tackle future-focused issues that prepare today’s generation to face tomorrow’s challenges. They build personal confidence, sharpen critical thinking, and foster respectful dialogue—qualities that are urgently needed in a world where polarisation often replaces listening.
Through D Voice, debate nights become a civic classroom. Teams practise how to present evidence without extremism, invite new perspectives, and model a culture where the opinions of persons with disabilities are centred rather than sidelined.
From Trainees to Jurors and Hosts
Many graduates go on to serve as panelists, hosts, and arbitrators within the National Debate Team. Their presence ensures that disability rights remain part of mainstream discussions and that debate panels reflect the diversity of Kuwaiti society.
Alumni also mentor younger advocates, supporting school leagues and youth clubs that want to embed inclusive debate methodologies. This intergenerational exchange keeps D Voice evolving while safeguarding its founding values.
