Kelna Kids & Youth

A social and educational program launched by Training Gate International in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in December 2013.

About the Program

Kelna Kids & Youth nurtures human values, self-development, and positive perceptions toward children and persons with disabilities. By inviting children and young people to collaborate, the program fosters inclusive mindsets where differences are recognised as strengths.

As an introductory track toward inclusive education, the initiative raises awareness among children, learners, teachers, and school administrators so that every learner is welcomed as an essential member of the school community.

Today, Kelna attracts two core audiences—children and youth—offering age-appropriate formats that respond to their needs and aspirations.

Social storytelling for inclusive classrooms

Kelna for Kids

Narrative-driven awareness sessions tailored to kindergarten and primary students, featuring protagonists with disabilities who model collaboration and respect.

Each story in the Kelna series introduces characters with different disabilities and invites young learners to explore empathy, friendship, and responsibility through engaging plots.

Facilitators and teachers receive activity guides, vocabulary prompts, and discussion starters so the stories can be woven seamlessly into classroom learning.

Interactive moments—from role-play to drawing and group tasks—help children practise supporting their peers and celebrating differences.

Audience

Kindergarten and early primary classrooms across participating schools.

Format

Storybooks, puppet theatre, and guided activities delivered in short thematic modules.

Outcomes

Motivational seminars inspired by TED-style talks

Kelna for Shabab

Public seminars designed for secondary-level youth and above, led by young presenters with disabilities who share their lived stories to promote human values.

Each session features storytellers who reflect on their journeys, challenges, and achievements, showing audiences how inclusion fuels innovation and resilience.

The seminars blend keynote-style talks, Q&A segments, and peer networking moments that encourage participants to engage, ask questions, and volunteer.

Schools, universities, and youth spaces partner with Kelna to adapt the experience to their communities, ensuring that young people see role models who look and sound like them.
